The president suffered a minor delay while traveling to Davos after Air Force One was forced to turn around after takeoff due to a “minor electrical issue.” However, the issue was fixed and Trump was able to continue with his trip.
Trump told reporters ahead of leaving for Davos that he believed it “will be an interesting trip.”
President Trump said he would not use military force to invade and acquire Greenland, in a bid to ease nerves in Europe after he previously said he would not exclude the option.
“That’s probably the biggest statement I made, because people thought I would use force,” he said of his earlier comments that he wouldn’t “rule out” the military.

“I don’t have to use force. I don’t want to use force. I won’t use force.”
“All the United States is asking for is a place called Greenland,” he added.
The top Democrat on the Oversight Committee accused his Republican counterpart of “obsessing” over his Clinton subpoenas, rather than focusing on possible witness interviews with the likes of Ghislaine Maxwell.
“As you know, former President Clinton has begun answering some of those questions in a signed declaration that this committee has received recently, including last week,” Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) said in his opening remarks during contempt of Congress proceedings.
“We know that President Clinton has offered to answer additional questions in different formats. He’s also called for a full release of the files immediately, which you or no one in this committee has actually done,” Garcia continued.
“It’s interesting that it’s this subpoena only that Republicans and the chairman have been obsessed about putting all their energy behind.”

Garcia noted that the Department of Justice has released an estimated 1% of the investigative materials in its possession on Epstein.
“Where is the pressure to get Pam Bondi to release the files?” the California Democrat fumed. “Instead, you’re focusing the committee’s focus on whoever you perceive to be your enemies and the enemies of Donald Trump.”
President Trump has left the stage in Davos after spending nearly 90 minutes under the spotlight at the World Economic Forum.

He gave remarks for about an hour and 15 minutes. Then he stayed on for a nearly 15-minute Q-and-A session.
Trump spoke on topics including the economy, Greenland, the Russia-Ukraine War, NATO and Emmanuel Macron’s sunglasses.
he president likely did it all on very little sleep. After about an hour into his overlight transatlantic flight, Air Force One turned around and returned to Joint Base Andrews because of an electrical issue. The president and his staff switched to a smaller plane to continue the journey.
“Mr. President, I know you even had to change to a plane last night, so I guess you didn’t have much sleep, but I think but your energy is still there,” said Børge Brende, president and CEO of the World Economic Forum.

“I know you have several bilateral meetings. I know you’re also hosting a reception. So thank you so much for coming back to Davos. Thank you so much. It’s highly appreciated.”
President Trump heaped praise upon his team during a Q&A session in Davos, crediting Secretary of State Marco Rubio for teaching him diplomacy.
He described Rubio as “fantastic.”
“Marco Rubio, he said, ‘Let me teach you about diplomacy,'” the president said. “Marco has been fantastic.”
He then called on Rubio, who also serves as national security adviser, to stand up. “You have done a great job as secretary of state. He’s going to go down as the best secretary of state,” Trump said.
The president also touted Susie Wiles as the “best chief of staff” and gave shout-outs to other cabinet members, including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Energy Secretary Chris Wright, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum.
