For a peaceful transition in the U.S., the world should unite, by Nicholas Virzi

“If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on Earth.” – Ronald Reagan

The American regime is at a critical juncture with two paths: either continue to use inflammatory rhetoric to incite hatred and political violence to maintain power, or compete on policy issues in fair, transparent elections.

Circumstances will worsen before they get better. Biden has likened Trump supporters to the KKK (CBS Sunday), stating repeatedly that his decision to run in 2020 was based on the debunked lie that Trump had said “nazis were good people”(USAToday). Now, despite the assassination attempt on Trump (BBC News), the Harris campaign continues to smear Trump as a “threat to democracy”. A descent into full-fledged political hatred appears inevitable.

It is in the interest of [classically] liberal governments worldwide to ensure that representative government in the U.S. survives through fair elections and that a peaceful transition of power occurs next January. As Reagan famously said “If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on Earth.”

Biden and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi have publicly admitted their intention to prevent another Trump presidency. Biden has said he is not confident a peaceful transition of power will occur should Trump lose (CNN), while Representative Jamie Raskin has laid out the Democrat´s plans to refuse to certify a Trump victory.

The American regime has turned to lawfare and government-led censorship to thwart the political rights of half the country. Various civil and criminal cases have been brought against Trump to block his candidacy (The Atlantic), each one based on unprecedented interpretations of the law. Trump, meanwhile, is restricted by a court order prohibiting him from speaking in his defense. Since the DOJ brought a classified documents case against Trump, it was forced to investigate Biden for the same matter, but it declined to charge him on account of his infirm mental state (CNN).

Trump still faces the possibility of being sentenced to jail on September 18th (Newsweek) on what even leftwing pundits consider a joke of a case (Rolling Stone).

Kamala Harris has not addressed the validity of the legal accusations against Trump, although she references such allegations for political gain (USAToday).

Various states attempted to keep Trump off the ballot until the Supreme Court ruled such attempts unconstitutional(PBS). The Biden-Harris regime responded by proposing radical changes to the Court. The Democrats have proposed expanding the Court, term limits and a code of ethics (White House), restrictions that they would never apply to themselves. Over their decades in politics, Pelosi and Bidenhave amassed significant wealth, amid widely-held suspicions of corruption.

The American mass media is a lost cause, as it speaks for power, but perhaps foreign leaders can remind the U.S. that its two-tiered approach to democratic principles will ring hollow on the international stage if it continues to flout these principles at home.

Evidence of electoral fraud has been readily apparent in the U.S., with serious questions arising in Georgia, Arizona, Virginia, New Mexico, Wisconsin, etc. Michigan just passed a law preventing the Board of Canvassers from investigating electoral fraud and initiating ballot recounts. While legitimate questions have been dismissed outright by those in power, independent reporting through meticulous organization, witness testimonies and comprehensive evidence-collection have created a compelling case for questioning the manner the U.S. runs its elections. These problems were outlined by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency in a CISA report hidden from public view.

There are noteworthy parallels between the situation in Venezuela and the U.S. elections. Many elections in the U.S. run afoul of common-sense measures such as voter ID, updated voter rolls, paper ballots, scrutinized vote-by-mail, timely reporting of results, and public access to original ballots and the records of their tabulation. Widespread election irregularities highlight the importance of combining domestic civil society vigilance with active international engagement to ensure transparency and fairness in U.S. elections. This is unlikely to happen.

The Biden-Harris regime is actively working to unfairly stifle its opposition, including threats and government-directed censorship via social media (CNN). The global community and mass media have united with these authoritarian censorship initiatives. Reporters from leftwing media outlets like the Washington Post are now openly calling for censoring Trump´s political speech. The left is applauding Thierry Breton, an EU commissioner, for his public warning of Elon Musk on the legal consequences he could face regarding the publication of his then-upcoming interview with Trump.

It is no surprise that the U.S. scores worse on government corruption than countries in Africa and the Middle East (World Bank). Institutions whose once-vaunted independence and professional integrity are now under scrutiny include the FBI, DOJ, intelligence community (and here), Secret Service, Homeland Security, and the State Department.

Nevertheless, the return of Trump and America´s bumpy road to democratic competition shows that it is possible to envision change. Fair elections, free of interference from the government, the media and foreign entities will require integrity on the part of the media and political will on the part of those in power. This will not happen.

The electoral outcome will ultimately depend on the Democrats´ willingness to throw their opponent in jail and the media’s continued complicity in hiding Kamala Harris from public scrutiny. Important nations – Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Honduras – have been silent on the undemocratic tactics of the Biden-Harris regime. The window is fast closing.

Whether other nations will denounce the American regime´s attacks on the principles of a free society remains uncertain. It has happened before. When Trump was kicked off Twitter in 2021, the left-wing Mexican president called it a “degradation of the respect for the law”, a worry echoed by leaders in Europe at the time.

The American mass media is a lost cause, as it speaks for power, but perhaps foreign leaders can remind the U.S. that its two-tiered approach to democratic principles will ring hollow on the international stage if it continues to flout these principles at home.
